YouthPower Energy Camp is designed to help young people develop their leadership skills, have summertime fun, and at the same time learn about one of rural America’s most important industries – rural electrification.
Chris Chandler (Aline-Cleo), Hope Olson (Burlington), Katelee Martin (Alva), and Tyler Hill (Burlington) were selected by your local cooperative to participate in the Electric Cooperatives of Oklahoma YouthPower Energy Camp. They will spend four days enjoying the pleasures the Canyon Camp offers – from volleyball tournaments and swimming to hiking and building teamwork skills on a challenging low ropes course. And best of all, they will make friendships that will last a lifetime!
Join us in congratulating these young people as they embrace Canyon Camp, near Hinton, OK, where they will experience first-hand the exciting world of electricity – watch safety demonstrations, climb a pole, and watch a co-op crew at work. Plus, they’ll have the opportunity to sharpen their leadership skills by working with new-found friends from every corner of the state to set up and run their own cooperative business.
