Save a stamp, a check, and a trip to the post office by paying your Alfalfa Electric Cooperative (AEC) bill online with SmartHub! You’ll also be able to view your prior bill and payment information.

If you are a first-time user of SmartHub, grab an old bill or look up your account number, and then sign up online to establish your username and password.
Office & Payment Facilities
Our office in Cherokee is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. to service your needs. We also have 4 payment centers located conveniently throughout our service area, so making payments and doing business with AEC is easy and convenient.

Automated Bank Draft
Automated Bank Draft is a program that allows you to pay your bills automatically by deducting the amount of your AEC bill from your bank, credit union, or savings and loan.
This convenient and easy method of paying your bill saves you time and worry about late payments.
There is no charge for this service.

To enroll in the Automated Bank Draft program simply complete the form and return it to the main office along with a canceled check:
Average Monthly Payment Plan
If you’re a residential customer with at least 12 months of service, you are eligible to take advantage and sign up for this plan between the months of October and May. Your total annual cost for electricity remains the same, but you have the convenience of a consistent bill each month.

To transfer your account to this billing option, complete and submit the form. Once your application has been reviewed, a member of our team will contact you with the next steps.
Please note that you must have a zero balance before your account will be placed on the average monthly payment plan.
Prepaid Billing
Alfalfa Electric Cooperative offers Prepaid Metering as a convenient billing option for single-phase residential and farm and ranch accounts. Prepaid Metering is an option for new and existing members.

New members will need to complete an Agreement for Purchase of Power.

Demand Load Management (DLM) Program
Let us take control of your electric usage during peak times and be rewarded with substantial savings.
The Demand Load Management (DLM) Program started on June 20. Western Farmers Electric Cooperative (WFEC) will continue to provide AEC notification of when WFEC is calling a peak day during the DLM season. As always, this will take the guesswork out on AEC’s behalf and allow the member owners fewer days that they will have to control.
Peak Hours
Peak day hours are determined by WFEC and are subject to change without notice, but are typically:
Between 3 and 7 p.m., Central Daylight Savings Time
Any day (excluding the 4th of July and Labor Day)
June 1 through September 30
DLM Examples
Viewing our DLM Examples (PDF), you will find more information in Figure 1 for three-phase accounts and in Figure 2 for single-phase accounts. There will be the normal energy charges per kWh for your respective rates and rate minimum. You will see a $3.85 per KW credit. AEC is committed to our members, and we will continue providing this program to you as long as feasible.

Please note: All DLM accounts will be responsible for paying a $40 annual processing fee. This fee will be added to your January billing statement.
