Powering Together: Our Partnership with Western Farmers Electric Cooperative
At Alfalfa Electric Cooperative, we’re proud to be part of something bigger. As a distribution cooperative, AEC delivers reliable power directly to the homes, farms, and businesses across northwestern Oklahoma and south-central Kansas. But we don’t do it alone.
Our generation and transmission cooperative (G&T) — Western Farmers Electric Cooperative (WFEC)— plays a vital role in keeping the lights on. Based in Anadarko, Oklahoma, WFEC provides the electricity that powers our members’ lives. They generate and transmit the energy we deliver, ensuring safe, affordable, and sustainable power every day.
Together, we’re part of a cooperative network that includes 22 member-owned distribution systems across Oklahoma and parts of New Mexico and Texas. This partnership allows us to share resources, strengthen reliability, and invest in innovative energy solutions that benefit all members.
Through WFEC, Alfalfa Electric Cooperative has access to a diverse mix of generation resources — including natural gas, wind, solar, and hydroelectric power. This balanced approach helps us maintain affordable rates while supporting a cleaner energy future.
