The countdown is on! There are just two weeks left to apply for Youth Tour 2026, an unforgettable opportunity for high school juniors to learn, lead, and experience our nation’s capital alongside students from across the country.
What Is Youth Tour?
Youth Tour is a nationally recognized leadership program sponsored by electric cooperatives, like us! Each year, outstanding high school juniors are selected to travel to Washington, D.C., where they:
- Learn how electric cooperatives work and why they’re different
- Explore U.S. history and government firsthand
- Meet with elected officials
- Tour national monuments and museums
- Build leadership skills and lifelong friendships
This once-in-a-lifetime experience is designed to inspire the next generation of leaders!
Who Can Apply?
Students who meet the following criteria are encouraged to apply:
- Current high school juniors
- I live in Alfalfa Electric Cooperative’s service area or attend a school in its service area.
- Students with an interest in leadership, government, community involvement, or public service
- I can attend the interview (February 11).
- I can attend Youth Tour (June 13 to 19) and CYLC (July 10 to 16).
No prior experience is required — just curiosity, motivation, and a willingness to learn.
Application Deadline Is Approaching
📅 Applications are due in two weeks — don’t wait until the last minute!
Applicants are required to complete:
- An online application
- A short essay
- A brief video submission
All materials must be submitted by the posted deadline to be considered.
