Unlike investor-owned utilities, Alfalfa Electric Cooperative is not governed by distant shareholders. Instead, our cooperative is led by a member-elected board of trustees. Board Members are cooperative members, as well as friends, neighbors and local business owners who understand the unique needs of the communities we serve.
As part of the 2026 trustee election, Alfalfa Electric Cooperative will open the filing period for members interested in serving on the board of trustees in District 5 and 7. Trustees are elected to three year terms and are responsible for representing the interests of all cooperative members across our services area. The current trustees representing these districts are Stan Diller (District 5) and Gary Olson (District 7). Members who reside in District 5 or District 7 and wish to run for a trustee position must obtain a filing document from AEC office. Information outlining the qualifications required to serve as a trustee is also available at the office. The filing period is February 1-10, 2026. Completed filing documents must be returned to the AEC office during this time to be considered. Office hours are Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m to 5 p.m.
