Three exceptional local students—Tyson Ream, Lindzee Wessels, and Trig Ream—recently returned from an unforgettable week at the Colorado Youth Leadership Camp (CYLC) in Steamboat, where they proudly represented Alfalfa Electric Cooperative (AEC). During the weeklong camp, the students joined more than 80 high school students from Colorado, Kansas, and Wyoming for an immersive leadership experience focused on the cooperative business model, the history of rural electrification, and personal growth. Through leadership workshops, team-building activities, and outdoor adventures, campers were encouraged to step outside their comfort zones, develop new skills, and build lifelong friendships with peers from across the region. For Tyson Ream, one of the highlights of camp was meeting new people and running for the prestigious title of Camp Ambassador. Lindzee Wessels shared that the experience challenged her in the best ways possible, helping her build confidence and grow as a leader. Trig Ream especially enjoyed the outdoor adventures, with river rafting standing out as his favorite activity, and he also made friendships he says will last a lifetime. Alfalfa Electric Cooperative is incredibly proud of Tyson, Lindzee, and Trig for representing the cooperative with enthusiasm, integrity, and a willingness to lead. Their experiences at CYLC will undoubtedly have a lasting impact as they continue to grow into the next generation of community leaders.
