Alfalfa Electric Cooperative is excited to welcome Ruston James as the newest employee at your cooperative. Ruston graduated from Cherokee High School in May 2021 with plans to pursue a lineman degree in Texas. At a young age, Ruston knew he wanted to be an AEC Lineman. When the opportunity presented itself to start work immediately at his hometown cooperative – he knew he couldn’t turn it down. Ruston is no stranger to the cooperative world. His grandmother worked at Alfalfa Electric and is the reason Ruston wanted to pursue line work.
Ruston was hired as the Clearing Crew Chief-in-Training on the wood crew. He hopes to advance to the line crew and gain the experience and education needed to become a Journeyman Lineman. When asked if he was enjoying his position at AEC Ruston said, “I am excited to have the opportunity to stay near my family in Cherokee and gain the experience I need to serve our cooperative. Working at AEC has always been my dream and I feel blessed that it has become my reality. Everyone at AEC has been so welcoming. I couldn’t have asked for a better job!”
Welcome to Alfalfa Electric, Ruston!
