On Friday, April 14, Alfalfa Electric Cooperative will hold its 87th Annual Meeting at the Cherokee High School Auditorium. AEC bylaws require that we have an annual meeting each year. The drive-thru registration at our headquarter’s equipment storage building off Ohio Street is from 2-5 p.m. Members can also register from 5-7 p.m. at the Cherokee High School Auditorium lobby. This year, registered members will receive a thermal tote bag, an Eddie Bauer throw blanket and a stylus pen. Members must register on Friday, April 14, to receive these gifts.
The AEC Board of Trustees approved returning margins to our members through capital credits. This year’s refund will be $1,995,000. As in the past few years, capital credit retirements of $50 or less have been credited to the member’s account. Capital credit checks over $50 will be mailed to members.
AEC is excited to once again provide a meal for our members. Klein’s Catering will begin serving pulled pork sandwiches, potato salad and barbecue beans from 5-6:45 p.m. A variety of cakes and cookies will complete the meal.
AEC President John Regier will begin the business meeting promptly at 7 p.m. in the auditorium. Pastor Ryan Pullan from Faith Center Fellowship in Cherokee will lead the invocation and AEC Board Member Joe Woods will lead the Pledge of Allegiance. In addition to regular business, CEO Greg Goetz will introduce the honored military guest, Brigadier General Colby Wyatt, Oklahoma’s newest general officer. Wyatt has years of dedication to our Oklahoma National Guard.
After the business meeting, AEC will have several cash prize drawings. Members registered in the drive-thru or at the auditorium are eligible for these prizes. There will be four $50 prize drawings for each district. In addition to those drawings, AEC is presenting $500 to one lucky member in each of its eight districts. Yes, there will be over $5,000 in prize money, and members do not have to be present to win!
Come and enjoy the great food, terrific company, co-op information, and cash prizes on Friday, April 14. Alfalfa Electric Cooperative employees look forward to seeing the members at its 87th annual meeting.
