Alfalfa Electric is proud to present Carol Bowers as the September Employee Spotlight. Hired as a Member Services Representative, Carol began her career at Alfalfa Electric in May of 2002. As a Member Services Representative, Carol’s daily job duties include radio dispatching, managing outages, purchase of power contracts, and processing service order requests. Carol plays a very important role during storms taking phone calls for members reporting outages and helping dispatch linemen. She works directly with the Manager of Engineering & Operations, Scott Cudmore, and his team to ensure outages are handled promptly. Mr. Cudmore said, “Carol does a great job during outages working with our members and coordinating with the operations department. She provides our members with the best customer service.”
When asked what she enjoys most about her job Carol said, “I enjoy working with our members the most! I love being able to be a friendly voice and help with their many needs between outages, new service, or service upgrades. I enjoy seeing our members at AEC’s Annual Meeting and getting to talk to them face to face.” Customer service has always been one of Carol’s strong suits. Gail Ridgway, Chief Financial Officer, said in 2008, “Carol‘s ability to work with members is clearly exceptional. Her work and dedication during outage situations handling the members and working with the line department are excellent.” Ms. Ridgway voiced the same exceptional customer service in 2021. She said, “Carol has always been focused on providing excellent customer service to our members. Regardless if that is during a storm or during normal daily service requests, Carol is a friendly voice on the other end to help members with their needs.”
When Carol is away from Alfalfa Electric – she enjoys spending time with her family and chasing her 7 grandchildren at their many activities. When not busy at a grandchild’s activity, she enjoys downtime with her husband, Jack. Carol said she is looking forward to her upcoming 2022 retirement and being able to devote more time to her family, but she will miss her coworkers and the Alfalfa Electric members. There is no doubt, Alfalfa Electric members will miss Carol, too!
