Alfalfa Electric Cooperative Joins Touch A Truck Event in Burlington

Riker Hankey, Burlington student, is diving into electrical safety in the AEC bucket!

Alfalfa Electric Cooperative (AEC) recently participated in the exciting Touch A Truck event held in Burlington, Oklahoma, where kids got a hands-on experience with an array of large trucks and emergency vehicles. This fun-filled day is more than just a chance for children to explore big machines up close—it’s also an opportunity for meaningful play-based learning.

AEC was proud to have Jason Cloyd, North Area Journeyman, and Cheyenne Leach, our Communications Specialist, on hand to engage with the young attendees. Jason and Cheyenne spent the day teaching students about electrical safety, ensuring that while the kids were having fun, they were also learning important lessons about staying safe around electricity.

Touch A Truck events are designed to make learning interactive and enjoyable, allowing children to see and touch vehicles they typically only encounter from a distance. It’s an effective way to blend education with excitement, fostering curiosity and growth in a playful environment.

We’re thrilled to have been part of such a valuable community event and look forward to more opportunities to engage with our local youth in fun and educational ways!
