AEC Welcomes New Employees

The year 2022 is hitting Alfalfa Electric Cooperative hard – not the loss of power, however. Your co-op has already lost a few seasoned employees to retirement, with several more to come in the following months. Many years of co-op experience and knowledge will be leaving AEC by the end of the year. With that said, AEC has recently hired some excellent new employees.

End of March, Shawna Perryman from Ringwood, OK, started working for AEC as a Member Services Representative. Shawna is married to Kevin Perryman, a former AEC South Area Serviceman. Kevin and Shawna have a son, Wyatt, and a daughter, Riley. Shawna’s children are a blessing to her, and she loves being their mom. Shawna was born and raised in Weatherford, TX, but power lines brought them to the great state of Oklahoma. While Kevin was working as a lineman, Shawna worked for Rural Health Projects as the Chronic Disease Management Outreach Program Coordinator. She later worked for St. Mary’s as its Community Education Marketer. Shawna loves RV camping with her family and groups of friends from Cherokee. “I have missed Cherokee, and it’s good to be a part of the AEC family again.”

Lexie Pullan began working at the co-op in April as the Executive Secretary. She was born and raised in Enid. Lexie and her husband Ryan (Faith Center Campus Pastor) have two daughters, Paxtyn and Rylee. Lexie worked at Hillsdale Christian School for five years before moving to Cherokee three years ago. She was Assistant Vice President at ACB Bank before coming to AEC. Lexie is a member of Rotary and is the President of Cherokee Main Street. Her Master’s Degree in Business Administration is something that Lexie is proud to have accomplished. “Education is something that no one can take from you.” She enjoys watching football “Boomer Sooner,” going fishing, and just spending time with her family in her spare time. Lexie is settling well into her new job. She is enjoying the other employees and loves the family atmosphere.

In April, Ashley Kelly also joined the co-op family working as an Accounting Assistant. Ashley was born in Mesquite, TX, but was raised in Burlington. She and her husband Gunnar live in Burlington with their two daughters, Ava and Peyton. Ashley graduated from NWOSU with a business administration degree. She worked at Bank Central in Alva in the loan department for six and a half years. Ashley loves a new challenge and enjoys AEC’s positive, energetic work environment. Spending time with her family and playing golf with her husband and friends take up some of her spare time. She also loves going to OSU football games with her husband. Gunnar and Ashley like to travel to baseball stadiums all over the U.S. when time allows. Ashley loves to quote movies and shows, especially Law and Order…Bum! Bum!

Kyle Pfleider joined the AEC Services crew in April. He had previously worked for Services for eight years. When Kyle got the opportunity to get back with the Service crew and other AEC employees, he took advantage of it. “The people – everyone here is just like family.” Kyle was born and raised in Alva, OK, and he still lives there now. He has an 11-year-old daughter, Alissa. When there is some leisurely time, Kyle enjoys the great outdoors.  He likes to fish, hunt, and golf. Kyle can line dance with the best of them and claims to be an “amazing” sandwich maker. Someday, Kyle would like to travel to Ireland, where he would undoubtedly test his left hand with some golf at some of Ireland’s most scenic and challenging courses. Welcome back to the co-op family, Kyle.

These are the new faces at AEC – several hard-working, enthusiastic employees. AEC is training them and preparing them for their jobs. Your co-op employees will continue to give Alfalfa Electric Cooperative members dependable service at the lowest possible cost.
